A Twist on Bulletproof Coffee (and it’s benefits)

by URBAN JOURNEY

MyEnergy Coffee

Coffee is one of the richest sources of antioxidants, delivering chlorogenic acid, polyphenol and caffeine. I take it to supercharge my mornings.

The recipe I’ve shared below is my twist to the famous Bulletproof Coffee, originally created by Dave Asprey, well-known Silicon Valley “biohacker” – inspired by his travels to Tibet, and their yak butter tea.

If you follow a ketogenic diet, bulletproof coffee is great for you. As it’s high in fats, it helps in maintaining energy levels throughout the morning, prevents hunger and improves mental focus.

The following is a list of ingredients I use in my MyEnergy bulletproof coffee formula for some next level focus and performance:

Coffee – to risk stating the obvious. However, surprisingly few are aware that coffee boosts your metabolism, raises ketone levels, and lowers the risk of Alzheimer’s, heart disease and type 2 diabetes
MCT Oil – provides mental and physical energy, and curbs sugar cravings
Ghee – excellent for its anti-inflammatory properties, also as it contains cancer-fighting CLA, and is an all-around nutritional powerhouse, flush with an abundance of fat-soluble vitamins A, D, E and K
Chaga Mushroom (powdered) – a nutrient-dense superfood that slows aging, lowers cholesterol and, from recent research, has shown promising signs of cancer-prevention and fighting properties
Collagen – supports healthy skin, bones and joints, supports gut health and healing of the intestinal wall
Ceylon Cinnamon – anti-inflammatory, antioxidant and antimicrobial properties – an immune-health super spice
Cardamom – antioxidant, diuretic, aids digestion Recipe:
• 1 mug of black coffee
• 1 tablespoon of MCT (I use Bulletproof Brain Octane)
• 1 tablespoon of ghee (please use organic, non-GMO)
• 1 serving size of chaga mushroom (refer to packaging it came in for serving size)
• 1 scoop of collagen
• 1⁄4 teaspoon of ground cinnamon and cardamom (adjust according to your taste)

Run all of the above through a blender before pouring yourself a mug. You may find it easier just to use a high-speed blender, but an immersion blender is also fine.
…and now, savour MyEnergy Coffee – your creamy and delicious ticket to steady energy and sharpened focus.
