November is already shaping up to be a fab month for foodies with plenty of new spots that just opened and are offering a range of cuisines. It’s the perfect time of year to try out something new because things are a bit slower right before the holiday season, so you can really get a feel for a place without having to battle the crowds. Plus, it’s a great opportunity to suss out some new spots for your own festive celebrations. We have our eye on a few new restaurants in Singapore that we think are going to be huge successes including a cool rooftop bar and grill with amazing views, a sleek pizzeria that comes to us by way of Japan, and a swanky Shanghainese spot.
KIN at Straits Clan
Chef Damian D’Silva draws on his memories of the multicultural meals his chef grandfather used to prepare when he creates his ‘heritage cuisine’ at KIN. Located in the Straits Clan member’s club, KIN encourages communal style eating with long tables and homey dishes made with fresh local ingredients and a melting pot of influences that truly reflect Singapore’s diverse culinary history. Traditional recipes include the chilled tofu with century egg and pickled vegetables, Teochew style crab, and ayam lemak chili padi.
KIN, 31 Bukit Pasoh Road, Straits Clan, Singapore 089845. Mon – Fri 12pm – 1:30pm, 6pm – 9:30pm, Sat 6pm – 9:30pm
Trattoria Pizzeria LOGIC
Trattoria Pizzeria LOGIC may be a restaurant chain from Japan, but the food here is authentically Italian. That’s because the chefs actually trained in Italy and one has even won international pizza-making competitions. They also use fine ingredients from Italy like flour from Naples. As you would expect, the pizzas are the main stars with options like the Margherita D.O.C with buffalo mozzarella, cherry tomatoes and fresh basil, and the Quattro Funghi with smoked mozzarella, four different types of mushrooms, and duxelle sauce.
Trattoria Pizzeria LOGIC, 20 Craig Road #01-03, Singapore 089692. p. +65 6226 2250. Open Mon – Sat 12pm – 3pm, 6pm – 11pm, Sun & PH 12pm – 3pm, 6pm – 10pm

Start with a bottle of bubbly as you settle in amid the swanky decor and soak up the cool jazz tunes, then order up an authentic Shanghainese feast. Signature dishes include the crispy stuffed whole Hokkaido sea cucumber in oyster sauce, chicken soup in a clay pot with pork wontons, and the Grand Shanghai crispy roast duck with hoisin sauce.

Da Paolo Dempsey
The Da Paolo Group got its start in 1989 as a simple Italian trattoria, and has since grown into multiple dining concepts across Singapore. Their latest addition is a contemporary Mediterranean-styled spot in the leafy Dempsey hood. Offerings include fresh pasta made in front of you at the pasta-making station, Naples-style pizzas cooked in a wood-fired oven, tasty cheeses, imported cold cuts, enticing brunch dishes, and delicious desserts. Be sure to ask about the fresh truffles shaved right at your table.

Swing by between 5:30pm and 7pm for a signature spritz cocktail with complimentary canapes, then head into the dining room for exquisite fusion fare like Norwegian scallop gratin and binchotan grilled steaks.

Lombardo’s is a full-service burger chain from Amsterdam that already made headlines here with the most expensive burger in Singapore. It was a limited time deal to raise funds for charity, but you can still try 13 other, much cheaper burger creations like the special Singapore Fling with wagyu beef, crab meat, melted cheddar, pickles and homemade burger sauce. Need something with more of a kick? Try the Dragon Burger with Black Angus beef, locally pickled pastrami style beef, melted English cheddar, spicy Madame Jeanette sauce, and mini pickles. Wash it down with a cold craft beer.
Lombardo’s, 15 Duxton Road, Singapore 089481. p. +65 6970 9470. Open Tues – Sun 11:30am – 3pm, 5pm – 10pm
