Just in case you thought mozzarella was just a simple pizza topping, Latteria Mozzarella Bar is setting the record straight with a variety of delicious mozzarella cheeses flown in from Italy and served with fresh local and imported ingredients in authentic Italian dishes. They also have a great selection of antipasti, artisanal pastas, and grilled meats and seafood that they serve up in their cosy trattoria and on their al fresco terrace.
Why you should come here:
The location in Duxton Hill is pretty ideal, especially if you work at The Working Capitol or the CBD like we do, as you can easily access the restaurant via Tanjong Pagar or the Outram MRT, or in a quick taxi or Uber ride. The setting is also pretty sweet with options to sit outside on the terrace surrounded by greenery or at one of the wooden tables inside. But most importantly, they have a great lunch menu with good options to choose from at decent prices.
What we love:
We often head here for lunch when we’re in the mood for Italian, and we personally recommend the Caprese Salad to start with creamy mozzarella, fresh tomatoes, basil and mesclun salad. For mains we always go for either the Baked Herb Crusted Dory Fillet or the Grilled Organic Barramundi Fillet, both of which come hot and fresh with grilled zucchini on the side. You can also choose from a variety of pastas and meats, although we find that going light with the salad and fish leaves us pleasantly full but not stuffed.

Latteria Mozzarella Bar’s lunch menu is a fantastic deal, but be sure to come by in the evening as well because the atmosphere is completely different with inviting tables set up under the stars, a bustling dining room, and a great a la carte menu on offer with hearty homestyle Italian dishes. Be sure to try at least one of their specialty cheese dishes like the Affumicata (smoked buffalo mozzarella) with porcini mushrooms or the silky La Treccia with avocado and olive oil cream. Trust us, you definitely won’t regret it. They also do a great Sunday brunch for the whole family.
