Coriander Leaf Grill

We’ve always been big fans of Coriander Leaf for their innovative Asian fusion dishes, so we were super excited when we heard they were opening a contemporary grill in the heart of Chinatown. The menu here is made up of classic dishes like salads and steaks, but with added Asian touches for innovative flavour combos. Take for example the Cobia King Fish with spicy green harissa and pickled onions, the Baked Sweet Potato with wakame-koji butter, and the Pear Tart with chili-lime ice cream. They’ve also go happy hour promos happening daily from 12pm – 8pm.

Crackerjack

Part diner, part cafe and part bar, Crackerjack is brought to us by the 28 HongKong Street team. We love the easy-going vibe, the colourful artwork and the coffee made with beans from Two Degrees North Co. Foodwise they have fun lunch plates with imaginative dishes like the Lentil Mushroom Scotch Egg and the House Bone Broth which we find perfect for a rainy day. For dinner, expect more substantial dinner dishes like the Bourbon-Glazed Pork Collar Chop, and cool cocktails made with craft spirits and house made syrups. They also do an awesome weekend brunch with a good mix of healthy and indulgent dishes.

Luxe

Awash in white walls and blonde wood furniture, Luxe is bright and cheery and offers up contemporary Australian fare with a few Asian flavours thrown in for flair. Most times we pop in, we opt for lighter dishes like the Quinoa & Chia Seed Pudding for breakfast or the Roast Pumpkin with kale, marinated goat cheese, onion and seeds for lunch. However, we have to admit that every so often we do indulge in more decadent dishes like the Parmesan Doughnuts, Veal Schnitzel and the Pulled Pork Burger with chipotle cream and slaw.

PS Cafe at Ann Siang Hill Park

One of Honey’s favourite spots, whether it be for a work meeting or play, PS Cafe at Ann Siang Hill Park is a great spot to visit any time of day. We love the design with lots of glass, greenery and black leather banquettes, and the food has really improved since the early days. We love sitting on the rooftop terrace if the weather permits (i.e.not being too hot as is the usual case), and having a glass or two of wine and some light bites. The Truffle Fries are a must, must, must. Yes, they’re actually that good!
