8 Places to Get Gluten-free Desserts in Singapore

by URBAN JOURNEY

When you’re on a gluten-free diet, it’s not always easy to find delicious eats, especially sweet treats. If you look hard though, you can find a few eateries around town that offer gluten-free desserts like cakes, cookies, cupcakes and more. Whether you’re going gluten-free due to food sensitivities, celiac disease, or just to amp up your overall well-being, these cafes, restaurants and bakeries can sort you out with confectionaries that taste so good you won’t even realise you’re missing the gluten.

Tiann’s

Tiann’s is an entirely gluten-free bakery and cafe that also refrains from using any refined sugar, so no matter which treats you decide on, you know they’re going to be healthful and wholesome. The sweets section of the menu includes enticing options like the organic brown rice waffles with gelato, kaya tea cake made with almond butter and organic pandan leaves, and a divine sticky date pudding with gula melaka toffee. They can also do customised gluten-free birthday cakes.

Tiann’s, 71 Seng Poh Road #01-35, Singapore 160071. p. +65 6222 1369. Open Tues – Sun 8am – 4pm

Little Farms Cafe

The Little Farms grocery stores are all about natural whole foods, so it makes sense that the cafes also offer up a good range of healthy eats including gluten-free treats. Peruse the shelves in the grocery store for GF products to take home, then pop into the cafe for a pick-me-up coffee and a slice of gluten-free banana bread or bowl of GF granola. Keep in mind that the cafes aren’t entirely GF, so there’s always a chance that some of the items might have come into contact with gluten.

The Clean Addicts

Chef Andrea Lee became a ‘clean addict’ after she watched her mom suffer from health problems that might have been avoided by eating healthier. Andrea switched to a diet rich in raw foods and gluten-free eats, but she found it difficult to find healthier alternatives for the desserts that she loved so much. Now she creates her own cakes and other baked goods using only wholesome ingredients to replace sugar, cheese, and other additives. As of yet, she doesn’t have a brick and mortar shop, so ordering is online only.
