The craic is mighty at Molly Malone’s, Singapore’s first Irish pub established in 1995. Fun fact: Molly Malone’s was actually brought over from Ireland piece by piece, so everything you see from the green painted doors to the long wooden bar, the beer taps and the bricks in the walls came from the Emerald Isle. They offer up food and drink of Irish favourites like Dublin coddle, chicken and barley pie, Irish stew, and of course pints of Guinness.
Why you should come here:
No matter which night you pop into Molly Malone’s, chances are the atmosphere will be bustling with live bands playing folk tunes, sports matches on the telly, and interesting characters holding fort at the bar and around the pool table. The service is friendly, but nothing fancy, the food is consistently good, and they often have fun events going on like Quiz Night on Mondays, Killer Pool competitions on Thursdays, and Cards Against Humanity games on the last Tuesday of every month.
What we love:
Molly’s is famous for their crispy beer battered fish and chips, which come golden and crisp on the outside, moist and meaty on the inside, and served with skinny chips, malt vinegar and tartar sauce. They also have great daily specials throughout the week including the Grilled Pork Loin with roasted potatoes and braised cabbage on Wednesdays and the Slow Roasted beef with Yorkshire pudding, mashed potato and roasted vegetables on Fridays. If you’re hungry but not looking for a full-on feed, try some of their tasty bar snacks like the Scotch Eggs, Truffle Fries or Jalapeno Croquettes.

There are always great drinks specials going on here like their Hump Day House Pours on Wednesdays from 6pm onwards when house spirits go for $8++, and their Live Music Tuesdays when bottles of Magners cider are just $8.50++. Happy hours run from 11am to 8pm daily when you can get house spirits for $10++, select beers like Kilkenny and Hoegaarden on draught or in the bottle for $10++, and house wines by the glass for 13++.
